Tēnā koutou,

The Pūhoro Charitable Trust (PCT) improves Māori science, technology, engineering, mathematics and mātauranga (STEMM) capability. We are seeking to appoint one new full-time fixed term (1 Year) role within Auckland or Waikato based out of the Pūhoro Offices in Manukau, or Waikato at the University of Waikato in Hamilton. The following advertisement is for a Te Urunga Pae Kaihautū to lead and assist in the delivery of the Pūhoro STEMM kaupapa in the Auckland and Waikato region. Rangatahi in Pūhoro transition through high school and then proceed forward into Tertiary education or employment. The Te Urunga Pae Kaihautū will offer support to our Pūhoro rangatahi who are Auckland based, as they navigate further studies and experience employment opportunities through Pūhoro internships which are made available through the Pūhoro STEMM kaupapa.

This position will report to the Mana Urunga Pae – Te Urunga Pae Manager. You will be part of a high performance team who will support rangatahi to achieve their aspirations. You will be required to work both independently and as part of a wider team, working closely with rangatahi, whānau,  tertiary institution staff and industry stakeholders as required.  

To be successful in this role, you will have:  

  • A minimum of an undergraduate qualification in the sciences, Māori development or some other relevant discipline to this position
  • Proficiency in te reo me ngā tikanga Māori is desirable for this role
  • Proven experience in working with rangatahi Māori and whānau
