Tēnā koutou,

The Pūhoro Charitable Trust (PCT) improves Māori science, technology, engineering, mathematics and mātauranga (STEMM) capability. We are seeking to appoint a new role within the Te Tai Tokerau (Whangārei based) rohe. The following advertisement is for the Regional Lead Te Urunga Tū Kaihautū to lead and assist in the delivery of the Puhoro STEMM kaupapa in the Te Tai Tokerau (Whangārei) region.

This position will report to the Mana Urunga Tū (Manager). You will be part of a high performance team who will support rangatahi to achieve their aspirations. You will be required to work both independently and as part of a wider team, working closely with rangatahi, whānau, hapū, secondary schools, tertiary institution staff and STEMM industry stakeholders as appropriate.  

To be successful in this role, you will have:  

  • A minimum of an undergraduate qualification in the sciences, education or Māori development
  • High level proficiency in te reo me ngā tikanga Māori is a requirement for this role
  • Proven experience in working with rangatahi Māori and whānau
  • Proven management experience in leading or managing teams
