Annaleise Faint (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngā Puhi) was offered an internship at Bragato Research Institute (BRI) and was able to experience how the organization operates in its new research winery in Blenheim, as well as travelling to take part in research at laboratories in Christchurch.

Annaleise looked at how disease spread within different vineyard grape vines and the ways in which different vineyards dealt with these diseases. Furthermore, Annaleise likened the growing of grapes and also the impacts and spread of the diseases she studied, to the different realms of Atua Māori. Annaleise was able to present her research and findings during the presentation and also explain the connection between her project and mātauranga Māori.
