Tēnā koutou,

The Pūhoro Charitable Trust (PCT) improves Māori science, technology, engineering, mathematics and mātauranga (STEMM) capability. We are seeking to appoint one new role for an Events Manager. We are seeking applications from individuals who are based in either the Manawatū, Christchurch or Auckland to assist in the expansion and delivery of Pūhoro STEMM events. Pūhoro delivers a large number of events and initiatives throughout the calendar year. The Events Manager role will bring further support, expertise, experience and co-ordination to these events and to the broader Pūhoro Events Team.

This position will report to the Chief Advisor to the Manahautū (Events Team Manager). You will be part of a broader high performance team who support rangatahi to achieve their aspirations. You will be required to work both independently and as part of a wider team, working closely with rangatahi, whānau, secondary schools, tertiary institution staff and STEMM industry stakeholders as required.  

To be successful in this role, you will have:  

  • Proven experience in working with whānau and rangatahi
  • A minimum of three years event management experience is a requirement for this role
  • Proficiency in Te Reo me ngā tikanga Māori is weighted heavily but not essential for this role
  • Proven relationship management skills, and an ability to work with a range of audiences/stakeholders
