Pūhoro and Fonterra are proud to offer two scholarships supporting tauira Māori who are passionate about using STEMM to create positive change for future generations.

Inspired by Fonterra's purpose, "Our Co-operative, empowering people, to create goodness for generations. You, me, us together. Tātou, tātou," this scholarship recognises the important role rangatahi Māori will play in shaping the future of the dairy industry and wider STEM sectors.

Together, Pūhoro and Fonterra are committed to empowering the next generation of Māori innovators, scientists, engineers and leaders by helping to remove financial barriers to tertiary study and creating pathways into industry. Through this scholarship, recipients will receive financial support, industry exposure and opportunities to build connections that support their future careers.

Through this scholarship, tauira will receive financial support while gaining valuable exposure to one of Aotearoa's leading science and technology organisations.

Conditions:

• Whakapapa Māori.
• Currently enrolled at a New Zealand tertiary institution.
• Registered with Pūhoro's Te Urunga Pae programme, or willing to register with Pūhoro upon acceptance of the scholarship.
• Willing to participate in interviews, media stories, and communications regarding your study and scholarship journey.

Area/s of study: Scholarships are available to tauira studying at a tertiary level in any of the subjects below.

Internship Opportunity:

Recipients may also be considered for a paid summer internship with Fonterra between November 2026 and February 2027. Internship offers will be subject to the availability of suitable opportunities at the time.

Year of study: The scholarship is available to tauira in any year of study.
